The only reason i still use w indows is to play this game. i tried before and couldnt get it to work on ubuntu and i wonder if it is possible now.. My best experience of age of empires 1 and 2 was running a windows 98 wm on virtualbox. i found wine acceptable, but the win 98 vm used so little resources that it was preferable to wine.. I got "unhandled exception" right after clicking on "start game" (single player) on the first screen. ubuntu+wine 1.4 does anybody also have this problem?.
I have age of empires 2: age of kings and conquerors expansion pack installed. i can play both of them no problem when i'm going against ai. i have searched through winehq and whatnot but cannot find a solution to my problem..
